The Simons Town Navy Publications Unit is situated on a sloping site off the Indian Ocean on the east and comprises of eight buildings of heritage status.
The buildings are free-standing and comprise of both single and double storey structures. The larger buildings are barn-shaped face brick structures with timber windows, doors and timber floor boards on the first floor level.
The Buildings were quite rundown and require extensive refurbishment.
Extent of work included – planning and layouts, repairs to existing fabric and waterproofing of external walls.
